Nosy Be

Full-day excursion – Nosy Iranja, the pearl of the Mozambique Channel. A true living postcard, Nosy Iranja is one of Madagascar’s most beautiful islands. Located about 1.5 hours by boat south of Nosy Be, it is nicknamed “Turtle Island” and consists of two islets connected by a nearly 2-kilometer long white sandbank, visible at low tide.

Important Information

  • Departure around 8:00 AM – Return around 4:30 PM to Nosy Be
  • Nosy Iranja day excursion can be combined with a visit to Nosy Antsoha, allowing observation of the three lemur species – sifaka, brown lemur (Eulemur fulvus), and Varecia – in just 20 minutes
  • Excursion available year-round (weather permitting)

Daily Program

Morning departure from Nosy Be according to your reservation.
During the crossing, enjoy the scenic views of the Mozambique Channel – and, depending on the season, you may spot dolphins or whales.

  • Upon arrival on the island, it’s time to relax! Swim in the turquoise waters, enjoy the white sandy beach, or explore the lagoon by snorkeling.
  • After this moment of relaxation, a guided walk will take you through the fishing village and the historic Iranja Be lighthouse. Discover local life and enjoy stunning views of the two islets and the sandbank.
  • Lunch, prepared Malagasy-style, will be served on the sand, featuring freshly grilled fish and carefully prepared local products.
  • The afternoon is free to continue enjoying the beach, explore the lagoon, or shop locally before returning to Nosy Be at the end of the day.
